Turned Staircase, Wide-Spanned Posts and Low-Maintenance Define this TimberTech Terrain Deck - Ankeny (Des Moines)

Our Ankeny clients had a wobbly, splintered deck and staircase that they didn’t allow their children on. So, safety and low-maintenance (no splinters) were very important factors when considering their new deck. That, and nice, strong aesthetics and a nice patio and nice landscaping to go all around it (plants still coming in these pictures).

A wide, turned staircase made the deck stairs safer and more aesthetically pleasing. Wide-spanned deck posts, but built-out for a balanced mass for the spacing. Angles of the deck and sweeping curves in the concrete patio were designed to flow efficiently and aesthetically. Westbury aluminum for low-maintenance railing. TimberTech’s Terrain capped composite – with 2-board picture-frame borders – for stylish, low-maintenance decking…and one of the most cost-effective low-maintenance decking products. All of this made for a stunning backyard makeover for this Ankeny backyard north of Des Moines. And now the kids get to use the deck…and the patio…and enjoy the entire backyard!
