Painted vinyl is a recent trend in options for vinyl pergolas, which had typically been available only in white. Our client in Urbandale had a nice existing patio and deck space. But the deck, though a low-maintenance Trex Accents deck, was not comfortable many days due to the heat of a scalding sun. This significantly diminished their enjoyment of the upper deck space. A roof line would have been complicated and would have disturbed existing, new landscaping below.
A pergola – particularly a low-maintenance one, painted to match the Trex decking and railing color – was the perfect solution here. Because the color matched the deck and rail, the pergola easily integrated into the existing Trex low-maintenance rail with minimal disruption to (re-working of) the rail.
This Urbandale backyard is definitely not going to the dogs. But, with the addition of the grey pergola (providing a cooler color feel, too), the dogs are definitely cooler.
